Serendipity is a growing organization poised at fighting poverty through provision of access to safe clean drinking water, basic sanitation and hygiene education also through various programs aimed at reducing the scourge of malaria in rural communities and saving lives at birth.

Since 2003, Serendipity’s programs though on low scales have reached 1,050,000 (One Million and fifty thousand) women and children in rural communities of Kano, Jigawa and Katsina state.

Working in partnership with indigenous organizations and through grants, SHF has embarked upon small scale, community driven projects that:

• are long term, sustainable development initiatives

• use low-cost, locally appropriate technologies

• integrate water supply, sanitation and hygiene education activities also intertwined home management of malaria, Insecticide Treated nets supply and sanitation as a way of reducing malaria, safe birthing process and technologies

• wealth creation

• emphasize community ownership of planning and management

• emphasize self-help and community participation

• benefit and involve women and youths
